What does it mean to audit a course?

Response from Ask Me:

To audit a course means that you and your instructor have drawn up a contract of what is expected of you during the course's duration. You will not earn college credit to be applied towards a degree and the decision to take a course as an audit should be made after careful consideration. For instructions on how to audit a course, please contact an your instructor. If you are not sure if auditing a class is right for you, please meet with an Academic Advisor. You can find the contact information for the Advising Offices at https://www.csmd.edu/studen... .
