Can I take only summer classes and transfer the credits to a different university?
Yes. When you apply to College of Marin (https://www1.marin.edu/apply 
) you are not required to stay at COM for any length of time and you are not required to take any classes.
Each school decides which courses and credits it will accept from other schools. If you want to take a COM course and transfer the credits you should check that the other school will accept them.
