What is an art critique?

Response from John McLaughlin:

An art critique is a type of evaluation used to analyze, describe, and interpret works of art. It is the opportunity for an artist to see their art through someone else's eyes. The critique in not about the artist or even necessarily their skills but is about a work of art and how successful it is. You will both receive and give many art critiques in your classes at UMA. It can be scary at first but as you progress you will welcome others' critiques of your work in order to improve as an artist.
