If I were to repeat a course and receive a better grade the second time, what would this do to my GPA? How would it affect my transcripts?
Students who have performed poorly in a course should repeat the course. While all grades will appear on the student’s transcript if a course is repeated, only the most recent grade earned for the course will be calculated into the student’s grade point average (GPA). This replacement has an immediate impact on the student’s cumulative GPA.
Please keep in mind that if the most recent grade is lower than the initial grade, it will still be used to calculate the cumulative GPA. Students may request an appeal of this policy with an academic advisor. Students can take a course for credit no more than two (2) times. Once two attempts have been made, the student must receive permission from an academic advisor to take the course again.
