Is there is a possibility for the professor to tell me to physically to get the book, even though the class is online?
In some cases, yes. Maybe they will not tell you to physically get the book. However, if the book is listed on your syllabi as a required text your professor is requiring this because they believe you will need it to succeed in the course and to master the content. Factor in textbook courses when registering.
Also note that some courses at Prince George's Community College use OERs, free course materials. These courses are called Z-courses. You will need to register for a seat in these specific course sections.
