What are the prerequisites for admission to the Dental Hygiene program?
In order to be eligible for review, students need:
-High school biology with lab and high school chemistry with lab. If students have not taken these in high school (or took them but received a grade equivalent to C- or lower), they must have then taken them at the college level or through an adult ed program. The lab component is a necessary and important part of this pre-requisite; non-lab biology or chemistry will not be considered to meet pre-reqs.
-Completion of UMA developmental Math or English (MAT 9/ENG 100) or waiver (via testing).
-Completion of UMA MAT 30 – Algebra 1 or waiver (via testing).
-Students need a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
