I am thinking of going back to uma after withdrawing 9 years ago. Will my previous credits be accepted? I believe I completed 5 regular semesters and 2 summer sessions.

Response from John McLaughlin:

Yes, in the sense that credits earned at UMA always remain a part of your academic record. That having been said, while UMA strives to make the most of your previously earned college credits, if you return to UMA and enter an academic program different than the one you were in previously, or if you use the same academic program and the academic program's course curriculum has been revised to meet current career and or academic accreditation standards, then there is a chance some course credits you earned will not meet/fill course requirements of the program you enroll in upon your return.

We recommend you reapply to UMA for your program of interest. Reapplying is free and easy. Once you formally accept your readmission, your prior coursework will get officially slotted into the academic program you were accepted to so that you can see exactly how the earlier credits do or do not fit. Shortly after your readmission, you will be assigned a professional academic advisor who will send you an email invitation for an onboarding meeting. The meeting is designed to help you settle back into UMA, and a review of how your previous credits help you make degree progress in your current program will be an item covered in the meeting. Your advisor can also help you identify and change your academic program to one that makes the most of your prior credits. https://www.uma.edu/admissi...
