How do I buy my books with financial aid?
With an approved book voucher request from the Financial Aid Office. A book voucher request is typically granted if a student has been awarded and accepted financial aid in an amount greater than their semester charges. Each semester the Financial Aid Office emails students the link to the updated book voucher e-form. To access the current book voucher link contact Financial Aid at umafa@maine.edu. Once a book voucher request is approved, when the student logs into the UMA bookstore they will see and use their "Book Voucher" payment option.
Book Voucher terms and conditions: By making a book voucher request, the Student Accounts Office will hold any available financial aid refund for 30 days. If you wish to receive your refund within 30 days, do NOT complete a book voucher request. Also, be advised the amount spent on books will be deducted from any potential aid refund. A book voucher is not free.
