University policies and procedures have been designed to encourage respectful behavior and create an environment supportive of the educational mission of the University. The University of Maine System (UMS) Student Conduct Code is published in the UMA Student Handbook: https://www.uma.edu/complia... In addition, UMA publishes its own Student Conduct Procedures that explain how the UMS Student Conduct Code is implemented locally. Beyond that, there is a UMA Student Academic Integrity (AI) Code that details the procedures which apply in cases of suspected academic dishonesty.
