What do dental assistants do?

Response from Lauren Weinbrown:

Dental Assistants perform a variety of skills critical to high quality patient care. Dental assistants assist dentists by handing them instruments during procedures, sterilize dental instruments, prepare the work area for patient treatment, instruct patients in proper oral hygiene and post-operative care, expose x-rays, complete lab activities, keep records of dental treatments, and schedule patient appointments.
